The Presbyterian Senior High School at Akuapem Mampong commemorated its 10th Speech and Prize-Giving Day on Saturday, 10th August, 2024 with a vibrant ceremony that highlighted the school’s commitment to discipline and academic excellence.
Under the theme “Discipline and Academic Achievement: The Pivotal Role of All Stakeholders”, the event saw students and teachers honoured for their outstanding performances over the past academic year.

The event was chaired by Mr. Kwaku Opoku Osafo-Ampomah, President and Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) of Evonet Groupe and BCK Paints, a Ghanaian conglomerate that comprises businesses such as Evonet Construction, Evonet Marketing, Dios Properties, Evonet Distribution, and Rayyans Car Sales & Rentals.
He is a budding entrepreneur and a guardian at the school whose deep ties to the institution played an imperative role in the event, not only as the chairman but also as a philanthropist who has significantly contributed to the school’s development.

Mr. Osafo-Ampomah spoke passionately about the importance of discipline in achieving academic success, underscoring the need for cooperation amongst all stakeholders; students, teachers, parents, and the community.
His involvement in the school has gone beyond words, as he has made substantial contributions to improve the learning environment.
Early on this year, Mr. Osafo-Ampomah responded to a request from the school’s authorities for renovations. He funded and executed the refurbishment of the staff common-room which has seen the total transformation of the space into one worthy for the hard-working teachers and staff. It has since been commissioned officially.
In recognition of his generous contributions, the headmistress, Mrs. Augustina Agyeman-Koranteng, together with members of staff, expressed their profound gratitude to Mr. Osafo-Ampomah, lauding his dedication to the welfare of the school.

The highlight of the day was the recognition of academic excellence among the students. Robert Fosu, an outstanding student who excelled in six subjects-Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Integrated Science, Elective Mathematics, and Core Mathematics was awarded a cash prize of GHȻ2,000 by Mr. Osafo-Ampomah.
The gift was in acknowledgment of Robert’s remarkable performance, which has set a new standard for academic achievement at the school.
Mr. Osafo-Ampomah also donated an additional GHȻ10,000 to the school following an appeal for funds during the event, to support ongoing and future projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and academic programmes at the school.
Staff of the school presented Mr. Osafo-Ampomah with a special award to show their appreciation for his unwavering support and contributions.

Mrs. Agyeman-Koranteng, the headmistress, praised Mr. Osafo-Ampomah as a shining example of how alumni and parents can positively impact the educational journey of the next generation.
