Ghana international midfielder, Derek Owusu Boateng, tasted the La Liga for the first time since June 3, 2014 as he played his first match for Eibar on Wednesday night in their 1-1 draw game against Villarreal at home.
Boateng, 31, was handed a starting role by head coach Gaizka Garitano.
He has been overlooked in their opening four matches against Osasuna, Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid and Elche.
But the former Fulham player gets a chance to justify his inclusion in the squad.
Boateng made a dramatic switch to Eibar after terminating his contract with Rayo Vallecano, a club he signed for in the summer but never played for them in a competitive match.
