Lawyers for FONKAR member Ernest Owusu Bempah say they are yet to make contact with him after waiting endlessly for his arrival in court Thursday to be charged over his claims First Lady Naadu Mills is a recipient of an amount of $5 million from the judgement debt paid businessman Alfred Woyome.
Following police claims Bempah would be brought to court Thursday after his arrest Wednesday, friends and sympathisers had expected his presence in court. However counsel Duah Agyemang and his team of lawyers say they have been shuffling between the BNI and the circuit court at Osu but are yet to find him.
Ernest Owusu Bempah was charged provisionally for publishing false information meant to cause fear and panic and was detained overnight.
His lawyers told Joy News' Seth Kwame Boateng their client was supposed to be brought to the court for prosecution to begin but nothing has been heard from him.
After waiting anxiously at the Osu circuit court for hours but to no avail, the lawyers decided to go to the BNI where he was detained overnight, but nothing concrete came out of it.
Though worried, Duah Agyemang said they were waiting patiently for their client to be brought to court to see what exactly the prosecution have "up their sleeves".
He however dismissed reports Bempah had apologized for making the allegation.
He explained Bempah, a trained media person, received the information from a source before divulging them on a radio programme.
He could not tell however if his client has evidence to substantiate the claims.
Meanwhile, pockets of FONKAR members have besieged the court premises waiting for Bempah to be brought for prosecution to begin.
Some of them told Kwame Boateng the members have spread across various courts in Accra because they were not too sure exactly where their idol would be prosecuted.
