Mr Robert Bennett Forkuoh, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Amansie Central, has called on Ghanaians to bury all political differences and unite to build the nation.
He said the tendency of those in the opposition party to run down and criticize the ruling government in spite of its positive efforts at salvaging the dwindling economy is a disincentive to national development and must be stopped.
Mr Forkuoh was addressing a youth meeting organized by the Jacobu Youth Association (JYA) on theme "Together we build".
He said it was important for all Ghanaians to unite irrespective of their political leanings and give praise where praise is due to encourage government to do more.
Mr Forkuoh said he would boost education in the district by expanding education infrastructure as well as giving incentive packages in the form of scholarships and others to attract and keep pupils in school.
Nana Fosu Kwadwabiri II, Chief of Jakobu, appealed to the people to refrain from bad mining practices which were destroying the environment.
He appealed to developers to submit their site plans and building permits to him to ascertain the authenticity of the lands on which they are building.
Nana Fosu Kwadwabiri urged the District Assembly to provide accommodation for health personnel to motivate them to stay in the district.
Mr Benedict Boadi, President of the JYA, said the youth had vowed to bring peace to foster development in the area to attract more public officers to work in the District.
Mr Boadi appealed to the District Assembly to extend its scholarship scheme to all brilliant but needy students irrespective of their number.
