The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of Ghana 2008 has saluted the five teams which have already qualified for the competition that starts on January 20.
The five - Cameroon, Sudan, Tunisia, Angola and Morocco all qualified after victories in their penultimate qualifying games last weekend.
Dr Kofi Amoah, Chairman of the LOC in a letter to the presidents of the five associations described their qualification as worthy of commendation, an indication of the excellent quality of performance expected in the three-week championship.
“We assure you that the LOC and the entire football loving people of Ghana look forward to receiving your management, officials, players and teeming fans to accord you with the brotherly and stupendous welcome that will be keeping with the well known Ghanaian hospitality”.
Dr Amoah invited the nations to take delight in participating in the many activities lined up by the LOC in partnership with CAF to lead the tourney.
That, he affirmed, would provide the teams and nationals the opportunity to familiarize themselves with Ghana before the commencement of competition dubbed the fore-runner to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
