Former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey has told Joy Sports that local coaches, especially former national players, lack support from football administrators.The FIFA U-17 gold medalist believes impatience from fans and administrators is also to blame for the misfortunes of these local coaches.The 37 year old, who was guest on the JOY Sports Link on Saturday believes “local coaches are not given much time to succeed. It is true that coaches are hired and fired but sometimes the time and the support are not there. That is Ghana for you. For instance, when C.K and I were at Eleven Wise, we got support in the beginning but the latter stage was a bit problematic. Sometimes all it takes is patience. Most of the fans of traditional clubs don’t have patience and it doesn’t take a short time to build a club and put it on the winning path.”Nii Odartey Lamptey who currently runs a football Academy, Glow Lamp Football Academy in the Central Region played for top European sides including Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven and Aston Villa player.He added “supporters have been given too much room to operate and so they sometimes dictate to management of football clubs.”“That is what happened to C.K. at Hearts of Oak. It was the supporters who masterminded his sack from the team.”With eleven games gone down so far in the 2012/2013 premier league season, four coaches have been sacked from their respective teams.Three of the casualties, Mohammed Gargo (RTU), Yaw Acheampong (Ashgold) and C.K. Akunnor (Hearts of Oak) are all former players of the Black Stars.
