Mr Vincent Ayitah, a concrete mixer machine operator of Messrs Survivors Construction Company, on Monday lost his right arm when it got trapped up to the elbow in the machine for one hour until his colleagues dismantled the machine.Eyewitnesses said Ayitah collapsed when his badly mutilated arm was set free and was taken to the Hohoe Government Hospital and later transferred to the Regional hospital in Ho.
The eyewitnesses said while the ordeal lasted from about 1745 hours up to almost 1900 hours Ayitah screamed, wailed and told his colleagues to give him water to cool his pain and thirst.
Ayitah's colleagues and the sympathetic crowd wept and wailed as suggestions were bandied around in search of a solution.GNA
