President John Mahama has directed party executives to re-admit into the National Democratic Congress (NDC) all persons who left the party and now desire to return.
The President said these people must be treated with respect and dignity.
He made specific reference to the group that broke away from the ruling party to form the National Democratic Party (NDP) to support the presidential ambition of former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
He was addressing a rally at Damongo on the final leg of his
campaign tour of the Northern region.
“When your brothers and sisters make a mistake and they go out and they realize they made a mistake and they come back receive them back into the house.
“And so there are some of our brothers and sisters who left the party…several of them have come back, and said they want to come back into the party. Please I want to appeal to you, let us receive all of them back into the fold again.”
Mr Mahama also reiterated his party’s commitment to ensure the
completion of the Sawla-Fufoso road which is currently under construction.
