President John Mahama has sworn in Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah as the Governor of the Central Bank.
The ceremony which took place at the Flagstaff House was witnessed by the Vice President who is the immediate past governor of the Central Bank.
President Mahama tasked the new governor to ensure that the cedi is stabilized and the dollarization of the economy comes to an end.
"The cedi has remained relatively stable but we need to still work to protect that stability and make sure that the cedi acts in a predictable manner both for the interest of the economy and for investors who want to invest," he said.
Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah promised the President he will not fail him.
He added that he will do everything possible to further strengthen the economy.
