Former President John Mahama is set to lead a walk on the party's 24-hour Economy policy scheduled for Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
Originally planned for December 2023, the walk was postponed due to the District Level Elections.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership in the Ashanti Region, in a statement signed by Secretary Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has confirmed that all arrangements are in place for the walk.
The event aims to raise awareness about the policy among the region's residents. Former President John Mahama, NDC's National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and regional executives, led by Regional Chairman Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi, will participate in the walk.
The procession will traverse the principal streets of Kumasi, concluding at the Kumasi Jubilee Park, where speakers, including John Mahama, will address the attendees.
“The planned route for the walk is as follows: Aboabo Post Office, through Pelele to On-the-ran to Manhyia Hospital, proceeding to Alabar Street, Kejetia Roundabout, Hello FM, A-life, Asafo Overpass, Labour Roundabout, and concluding at Jubilee Park,” the statement said.
As part of his activities, the NDC flagbearer will embark on the 'Building the Ghana We Want Tour', engaging with different sectors of the community such as traders, organized labour, artisans, and students.
The community engagements aim to offer an invaluable opportunity for John Dramani Mahama to communicate his vision, listen to the concerns of the people, and collect direct feedback from the grassroots.
The NDC expressed anticipation for a highly productive and interactive series of events that will strengthen the connection between the party and the people of the Ashanti Region.
