Florent Malouda has not been included in Chelsea's squad for the group stage of the Champions League.
Malouda's future at Chelsea has recently been the subject of conjecture, with the Frenchman having not featured for the Blues this season.
And his exclusion from Roberto Di Matteo's squad for the defence of their Champions League crown has cast further doubt over his future.
After a summer of high spending, that included the arrivals of Eden Hazard and Oscar, Chelsea have let Raul Meireles join Fenerbahce, while Michael Essien has signed on loan for Real Madrid and Jose Bosingwa switched to west London rivals QPR.
Veteran goalkeeper Hilario was also omitted from Chelsea's Champions League squad, with Petr Cech, Ross Turnbull and Jamal Blackman preferred.
Chelsea Champions League squad:
Petr Cech, Ross Turnbull; Branislav Ivanovic, Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, John Terry, Paulo Ferreira, Cesar Azpilicueta, Ryan Bertrand; Oriol Romeu, Ramires, Frank Lampard, Oscar, John Mikel Obi, Eden Hazard, Marko Marin, Lucas Piazon; Fernando Torres, Juan Mata, Daniel Sturridge, Victor Moses
