The Southern zone of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League looks to be taking an interesting twist following Faith Ladies’ win over Hasaacas Ladies on matchday nine over the weekend.
The Dansoman-based side punched above their weight as they sealed victory over the Hasmal Ladies at the Carl Reindorf park on Saturday with Jennifer Kankam Yeboah netting the winner just before halftime.
LadyStrikers were 3-2 winners over Soccer Intellectuals at the Robert Mensah Stadium. Gift Addai Yeboah was among the goalscorers on the day.
Essiam Socrates also continued their incredible run following their 1-0 win over Thunder Queens at home while Army Ladies also defeated Police Ladies.
Ridge City suffered yet another defeat as they lost to Berry Ladies in the Madina derby on Saturday, their second defeat under Isaac Nii Armah.
In the Northern zone, Ampem Darkoa Ladies seem to have no match at the moment as there were on the winning end of another thumping.
Mavis Owusu and Mary Amponsah got a goal each for the Nana Mma as they earned a 4-0 win away from home.
Northern Ladies thrashed Pearlpia Ladies at home with a 4-0 win.
Prisons Ladies and Fabulous Ladies also went toe-to-toe but the former came up on top securing a 2-1 victory.
Supreme Ladies’ 5-1 win over Tamale Super Ladies made them the big winners from the weekend.
