Parents who trooped to the Mamprobi Polyclinic for their children to be vaccinated against measles and yellow fever were left in awe when authorities turned them away because the clinic had run out of vaccines. The parents said they fear their nine months old children would be infected with the measles and the yellow fever since the nurses have warned them that their children could be at risk if they failed to bring them for vaccinations every month.A furious father (name withheld) whose wife returned to the house without being given the vaccination threatened to cause mayhem at the hospital. He said what makes it worrying is the fact that the authorities did not know when the vaccines will arrive.Meanwhile, officials at the Regional Health Service Directorate admitted in an interview with Asempa News that the Directorate has run out of some vaccines. The source however could not confirm if that of measles and yellow fever are among the vaccines that are unavailable.Story by Kwaku Antwi-Otoo/Asempa FM/Ghana
