According to Sky Sports, Moroccan international striker Marouane Chamakh has signed a one-year contract for Crystal Palace on a free transfer, after completing his medical on Friday.
The former Arsenal forward joins the ever-growing list of second fiddle players who are leaving the Gunners for regular first team football.
Other players in this category include: Andrei Arshavin, Denilson, Gervinho, Sebastian Squillaci, Andre Santos and Vito Mannone, who have all departed during this summer window.
Chamakh, who joined Arsenal in 2010 on a Bosman transfer from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux, has failed to impress the manager during his tenure at the Emirates and was sent on loan to West Ham in January.
Although Palace just broke their transfer record to sign Dwight Gayle from Peterborough United for £4.6 Million, the manager has decided to further boost his striking options by signing a player with Premier League experience.
The 6"2 striker scored 14 goals in 67 appearances for Arsenal but has not played a Premier League game for the North London club since May 2012. The striker will look to break this barren run without games by helping this newly promoted side stay in the premier league this season.
