Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew has refused to rule out a move to Arsenal with the departure of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona.French side Marseille were in talks with the English club over Ayew’s transfer two weeks ago but they could not reach an agreement over his transfer fee.Barcelona have completed the £25million transfer of Fabregas and unveiled the midfielder on Monday which leaves a space in their midfield. The Gunners will make a fresh bid for the Marseille player as soon as they receive payments from the transfer of their captain to the Spanish giants.Ayew refused to rule out a move to Arsenal when asked on Sunday whether he is interested in moving to Arsenal with Fabregas’ deal to Barcelona sealed. When asked whether he is keen on Arsenal on Sunday night, Ayew said: “Why not? You know in football there is no certainty.”The Ghana international has an £11.5million release clause in his Marseille contract – a figure that is unlikely to deter the Gunners.Marseille chief Jose Anigo confirmed that they were in talks with Arsenal two weeks ago but they could not reach a deal.“We are talking about release clause in the contract, however, there is a deadline set and this deadline has passed. We’re serene. Dede is happy with us,” Anigo told Marseille TV on Sunday.Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will use some of the funds generated from the Fabregas deal to try to sign Ayew before the transfer window closes. With Samir Nasir also likely to complete a deal to rivals Manchester City latest by next week, Arsenal will have enough money to sign the Ghanaian.Reports of Wenger’s interest in Ayew comes after he revealed Arsenal would not be signing Valencia winger Juan Mata or Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Jadson.
