Gordon Igesund has recalled Bafana Bafana's record scorer Benni McCarthy for Friday's friendly with Brazil following an injury to Edward Manqele. Sundowns hitman Manqele pulled a hamstring in a 2-0 defeat to Maritzburg United in the Premiership on Sunday, with McCarthy - who has 31 international goals - benefiting from the ex-Free State Stars man's misfortune. Manqele was originally selected as a replacement for Moroka Swallows ace Siyabonga Nomvethe, who tore ligaments in his big toe in a 3-0 rout of Orlando Pirates on Saturday night. SuperSport United midfielder George Maluleka has also been called up following an injury to star playmaker Steven Pienaar. The Everton man pulled a thigh muscle in a 2-0 loss to West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday. Right-back Anele Ngcongca has likewise been ruled out. The Belgium-based defender faces two months on the sidelines with a knee problem. Bafana will tackle the Samba Kings, five-time world champions, at Sao Paulo's Estadio Morumbi (KO: 20.45 SA time). It will be Igesund's first game in charge of the national team, with his men playing neighbours Mozambique four days later.
