The much anticipated Mcdan Open West Africa tennis championship originally scheduled for April 25 to 30 at the Accra Stadium has been postponed to a future date, a release signed by the organisational outfit of Mcdan Open has indicated.
The postponement was due to the some extended discussions with some supporting sponsors for the big sporting showpiece. Also considered was the impending ban on noise making in the Ga traditional area within which the Accra Sports Stadium in located.
The release indicated that Mcdan, title sponsor of the annual competition is working on a new date in collaboration with the Ghana Tennis Federation which would be announced later.
It also expressed sincere apologies to players (both home based and foreign-based) and collaborators for any inconvenience caused. A new date is to be communicated soon.
The McDan Open West Africa Tournament 2016 will attract players from Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Cote d'Ivoire as well as Ghanaian players based in the US and UK.
