Lionel Messi withdrew from Barcelona's game at Malaga on Saturday before the birth of his third child.
Barcelona said the forward would miss the game for "personal reasons" and replaced him with defender Yerry Mina.
Messi, 30, later posted a picture of his baby boy's hand, writing "Welcome Ciro".
The Spanish club are eight points clear at the top of La Liga and play Chelsea in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday
