An army recruit has died during a training exercise at the Army Recruit Training School in the Shai Hills.
23-years-old William Kwaku Anumu is said to have collapsed and died after a nine-kilometre endurance walk.
Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Armed Forces, Colonel Mbawine Atintande told Joy News the endurance walk is a normal routine by all trainee recruits and officers during training.
He said the deceased fell unconscious on his return from the walk and all attempts to resuscitate him proved futile.
He said a committee will be set up to investigate the cause of death.
