President John Evans Atta Mills has made tentative nominations for his cabinet. He has named Vice Admiral E.O. Owusu Ansah as Defense Minister and Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni as Interior Minister.
Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah is National Security Advisor while Togbe Afede XIV heads the Finance Team with Moses Asaga and Dr Kwabena Duffour as members.
Presidential spokesperson Mahama Ayariga disclosed this to Joy FM.
Meanwhile the President has cautioned ministries, departments and agencies of government not to make any payments, enter into new contracts or make purchases.
All emergency payments are to be referred to the Office of the President.
According to Mr Ayariga, non-statutory payments are to be referred to the Office of the President for approval. These include all checks deposited with the banks but yet to be cleared.
The President has also directed the Controller and Accountant General to take note of the directives and ensure compliance.
