President John Evans Atta Mills has nominated 143 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives for nine out of the 10 Regions for confirmation by their respective assemblies and subsequent appointment.
This is by virtue of section 243(1) of the Local Government Act, 1993, Act 462, according to a press release issued in Accra on Monday and signed by Mr Joseph Yieleh Chireh, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development.
There were no nominations from Brong Ahafo Region.
