Clement Kofi Humado, Minister of Youth and Sports has urged the Black Maidens to go all out in their semi final clash against France on Tuesday at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup underway in Azerbaijan.
The Maidens stunned favourites Japan 1-0 last Friday to reach the last four and the Minister has encouraged the team to go a step further by beating the French to reach the final.
In a statement copied to GNA Sports, Humado has urged the team to work harder and raise high the flag of Ghana as well as Africa.
“This is a momentous victory for Ghana and Africa and I am very confident the Maidens who have already made history by going past the quarter finals will make Africa proud by being the first African women national team to win this prestigious competition.”
The Minister has also appealed to the sporting public to support the Maidens, the only African surviving team in their quest to reach the final.
