The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has warned the cedi could fall to what he describes as vanishing point, if measures are not taken to arrest its alarming depreciation.
Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey believes the free fall of the local currency is the result of huge judgment debt paid by the present administration.
He is also convinced recent developments about what he chooses to term G-crime is an indication God has answered prayers of Christians to expose nation wreckers.
Reverend Professor Martey wants Parliament to investigate all judgment debt the country has paid in the last 20 years.
Elton John Brobbey reported the Presby Church Moderator wondered why the Cedi which stood strong against foreign currencies all of a sudden stared falling so rapidly.
Rev. Martey said all Ghanaians must be concerned about the manner in which the country’s economy was being managed by the executive.
“These happenings are making me to understand why Ghana is sinking and why the Cedi has been dwindling to vanishing point. What is happening in Ghana now should make everybody awake…I am calling on the Parliament to go into the history of judgment [debt] payment in this country back 20 years…”
Rev. Martey also spoke against church leaders who do what he called ‘galamsay’ in the church warning they will be exposed.
