A three-month old baby girl was found abandoned by her mother at the Kerekere Park in Madina, Accra last Saturday.
A tea seller, Madam Charllote Sika said in an interview with the GNA that she found the baby girl wrapped in a white cloth behind a refrigerator workshop on the Kerekere Park at about 0330 hours last Saturday.
The baby girl had white beads around the waist and a white dress on.
According to Madam Sika the baby was shivering and crying in the cold and she therefore sent her to the Madina Divisional Police Headquarters for custody.
According to the Crime Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr. Apenteng Baffour, the baby would be sent to the hospital for check up before handing her over to the Social Welfare Department.
The Crime Officer called on the general public within the Madina environs to help the police to locate the mother for prosecution.
