Kumasi Asante Kotoko are through to the quarterfinals of the MTN FA Cup, after a 1-0 over Sekondi XI Wise at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Kotoko, fresh after their dominant win over Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League last weekend, controlled early possession and managed some few shots on target, but to no avail.
The Porcupine Warriors went close halfway through the first half, when Saaka Dauda connected to Michael Sefah’s cross but his header couldn’t find target.
The home side continued to dominate, and soon found the opener through Kyei Baffour, who latched onto Patrick Asiedu’s low cross.
The second half followed the script of the first, with Kotoko continuing to dominate and fashion out opportunities, however, the score remained the same.
Kotoko will host Division One side, True Democracy in the quarterfinals.
