The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), will Saturday distribute relief items to victims of a rainstorm at West Mamprusi in the Northern Region.
Hundreds of residents in three communities in the district were left homeless after their roofs and that of two classrooms were ripped off during the rainstorm.
MP for the area Dr. Sagre Bambangi speaking to Joy News appealed for assistance from the government.
"The victims of the rainstorm disaster are putting up with relatives because some of them have been rendered homeless. The most important issue has to do with the accommodation of the residence," he said.
Northern Regional Coordinator of NADMO Alhaji Salim Boma tells Joy News his outfit has sent some relief items for the affected persons.
The items, he said, includes: rice, roofing sheets, used cloths, blankets, plastic plates and cup, adding that the regional office is working hand in hand with the national headquarters of NADMO.
