Nana Ado asks for prayer for EC in conducting transparent election
Presidential candidate of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has asked Ghanaians to pray for the Electoral Commission in conducting a transparent election come December.
He asked same for government and the security agencies who would supervise the December polls. Nana Addo was speaking at the Wenchi Methodist Church when he joined the congregation to fellowship.
The presidential candidate has been spending most Sundays visiting churches and worshiping with Christians, as he takes his restoring hope tour across the country.
The visit to the Methodist Church at Wenchi was more symbolic as that was the very church that a founding father of the Dankwa-Busia tradition, from which the NPP sprouted, Dr. K.A. Busia fellowshipped. Sunday’s service also marked the thanksgiving service for a member of the Busia family who passed away.
“I request from you to pray for the peace of the nation as we head for the polls”, Nana Addo told the congregation.
“Let’s pray for the government, the Electoral Commission and the security agencies that the Lord will touch their hearts so they conduct themselves in a transparent manner”, he said.
That way, both winners and losers would be clear about the outcome of the elections, he added.
On his third day in the Brong Ahafo region Nana Addo’s tour took him to Jaman North and South, and the Wenchi constituencies.
