The National House of Chiefs has finally ruled in favour of embattled Buipe chief Abdulai Jinapor whose legitimacy is being challenged by other claimants to the skin and the Gonja Traditional Council.
Last month, a Tamale High Court quashed a decision by the Gonja traditional council to de-skin Abdulai Jinapor for acts of insubordination and disrespect.
But his opponents, led by the Traditional Council have disregarded the court order.
Dr. Ahmed Jinapor who speaks for the embattled chief, said “based on the ruling today, Buipe-Wura Abdulai Jinapor remains the legitimate chief of Buipe Traditional Area.”
Dr. Jinapor is hopeful the ruling will end the dispute over the Buipe skin.
