Ten National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency executives of the Yapia Kusugu constituency have distanced themselves from the press conference held yesterday by some executives and irate youth of the party in that constituency.
The irate youth of the Yapia Kusugu constituency gave Government a two-week ultimatum to sack the District Chief Executive of the area Mumuni Shiraz Ibn Yasin or they will go on a burning spree.
The youth among other things also alleged that the DCE was incompetent and does not respect the chiefs in the area.
But a press statement signed by ten members of the executives of NDC Yapia Kusugu constituency said the press conference was uncalled for and disappointing.
The statement said the executives are aware of the unscrupulous personalities trying to dent the hard earned reputation of the DCE whose administration has brought noticeable and appreciable development to the district and constituency at large.
It noted that the press conference called by the disgruntled executives and the irate youth was to settle personal scores they have with the DCE.
The statement cautioned faceless individuals who have made it a point to clandestinely use unsuspecting youth in the Party to foment trouble in order to achieve their parochial political interests, to desist from such acts.
It added that the allegations leveled against the DCE are unsubstantiated, misleading and malicious. The statement said the Central Gonja District is one of the fastest developing districts in the country which is positioning itself as an industrial hub for the region.
It concluded by assuring the president of their unfettered, unflinching and unalloyed support for the DCE.
