National Democratic Congress members resident in Toronto and other parts of the Ontario Province of Canada held an NDC Family Meeting in Toronto during the Easter weekend as a first step in bringing together all NDC members across Canada.
The well attended meeting brought together registered NDC members, sympathizers and enthusiasts across Ontario to find better ways and means to re-organize the party in Toronto. The meeting brought all existing factions and sympathizers together for the growth and effective functioning of Toronto NDC Branch.
NDC Canada Chapter seeks to re-organize the party across Canada to promote unity among members and harness support for the Social Democratic Agenda of the NDC and H.E. Prof John Evans Atta Mills during his tenure as President of Ghana.
The 1st Vice Chairman of North American Coordination Council of NDC (NACC-NDC), Mr. Simon D.K. Adzraku who chaired the meeting expressed his satisfaction about the good turn out of NDC members at this first meeting and said situations in Ghana and the mandate given to the NDC has called for all members in Canada and elsewhere to unite as one body and to rally together in supporting mother Ghana. Mr. Adzraku said the time has come for all NDC members to place the collective interest of the party above individual interests and help in making the NDC party successful.
Hon Gilbert Adjei, the National Organizer of NDC Canada Chapter, who was the guest speaker at the meeting, said a united NDC Family in Canada is long overdue and NDC Canada Chapter is happy about these developments.
He paid growing tribute to the National Chairman of NDC Canada Chapter; Mr. Jacob Marmon and NDC members in Canada for sponsoring the Short Message Service (SMS) Project as well as mobilizing logistics to assist the party in the last elections.
He said a united family of all NDC members in Canada will help NDC Canada champion bigger projects in future to support the party.

2.Montreal, QC: May 9, 2009 , NDC Family Meeting
3.Montreal, QC: May 23, 2009 Ghana’s Democratic Victory Party
4.Vancouver, BC: June 3- 6, 2009 NDC Familiarization Visit to Vancouver and Launching of NDC BC Branch
5.Calgary, AB: June/July 2009 Familiarization Tour of Alberta
6.Launching of NDC Calgary, AB. Branch
7.September 2009: NDC Canada National Delegates Congress
8.NDC Canada’s Participation in National Delegates Congress in Ghana.
Other speakers at the meeting included Mr. Obed Adore a former Vice Chairman of NDC Canada, Mr. Francis Osei Phillips, Mr. Joe Boateng, Mr. Robert Gidisu a Founding member of NDC Canada, Ms Mavis Tekpeki, Toronto NDC Women’s Organizer among others.
The meeting resolved to form a strong, united and vibrant Branch for the Toronto Metropolitan Area and a committee has been tasked towards the realization of this goal.
Solidarity and goodwill messages were sent by NDC Alberta Branch, NDC Vancouver Branch, NDC Montreal Branch, Mr. Kwame Agyemang from Ghana and other well-wishers of NDC across Canada.
