The National Democratic Congress is accusing the judiciary of bias.
The Party chairman Dr. Kwabena Adjei at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday attributed the strings of losses suffered by the Attorney General to what he says are bias judgements handed at the law courts.
The Attorney General has in recent times lost high profile cases with the recent being the striking out and discharge of Kwodwo Mpiani, ex Chief of Staff and Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby the Chief Executive of the erstwhile Ghana@50 Secretariat both of who were charged with willfully causing financial loss to the state.
She had earlier lost cases involving ex-Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Akwasi Osei Adjei, and wife of former Information Minister Zuleika Asamoah Boateng.
The state again lost an appeal by Alhaji Issa Abass and Kwabena Amaning alias Tagor both of whom were convicted by a High Court for dealing in illicit drugs.
This has been a source of worry to many NDC faithful some of who have called for the dismissal of the Attorney General.
But in a twist of the tale, the NDC believes the judiciary is in cahoots with the NPP to twist the arms of justice.
Deputy Attorney General Ebo Barton Oduro on Monday raised the issue of bias against a judge who is presiding over the trial of the murder of the Ya-Na, Yakubu Andani.
A day after, the party chairman at its Headquarters accused the judiciary of bias, saying "not even Jesus Christ will be able to win cases under such a biased bench."
Dr Kwabena Adjei advised the Chief Justice Mrs. Georgina Theodora Wood to take steps to weed out corrupt and politically biased judges from the bench or the party will clean it up for her.
Former Supreme Court judge Justice Kpegah justified the concerns of the NDC when he told Joy News’ Bernard Saibu that some of the court proceedings going on is only a caricature of justice delivered by a kangaroo court.
He is convinced that the Chief Justice who was appointed by the erstwhile Kufuor administration is doing the bidding of the NPP.
