Mr. Michael Ologo a youth activist of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has told party members especially the youth not to be confused over the recent acrimony and happenings in the party, urging party members to rather "see the current political trend in the NDC as a situation which will strengthen the base of their beloved party."
Mr. Ologo made the declaration to party members as part of his tour to the Upper Yilo Krobo constituency in a bid to instill confidence in party members at Opersika near Koforidua in the eastern region.
He agreed that, the current division in the NDC is serious and disheartening but “this is no surprise to me because, It is normal with any social democratic party to go through what the NDC is currently going through, I have seen this kind of split before in Hawaii and in the States, but right after congress the parties reunited and was able to present a formidable upfront."
Mr. Ologo, who is also an astute motivational speaker accentuated that "the youth should see the trend as a call on the party to reaffirm its core values and commitments and hold them up against hard realities and see how it is measuring up to the promise of the future generation."
He promised party members that after the primaries on July 10 the party will reunite and put the primaries behind it. He therefore charged all members and sympathizers to "channel their passion, strength and hope and rally behind whoever wins the nomination to enable the party retain political power in 2012."
Mr. Ologo, a devoted christian commended the people in the District, party members and Ghanaians in general for helping to deepen the country's fledgling and enviable democracy through prayers and tolerance.
