The New Democratic Party (NDP) has officially opened nominations for the various elective positions including that of the flagbearer.
The interim executives of the party met on Saturday after receiving their certification from the Electoral Commission to operate as a recognized political party in Ghana.
Some members of the executive body earlier intimated that the former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings will be called on to accept the flagbearer position of NDP.
This assertion was however denied by the interim Chairman of the party, Josiah Aryeh on Friday.
The Interim National Secretary of the party, Joseph Moanba Rockson said party members can start picking up their forms on Monday.
He said: “the National Executive Committee has opened up nominations across the country for our parliamentary candidates. We have asked all our regional officers to screen them and make appropriate recommendations for the attention of the National Executive Committee.”
Mr. Rockson asked the members of the party to duly follow the laid down procedure “so that we can approve and confirm them at congress on September 29.”
