Disqualified presidential aspirant of the  of the Progressive People's Party is demanding a five minute discussion with the Chair of Electoral Commission to resolve what he says are administrative and clerical errors committed during the filing of his nomination.

Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom stressed that he will, albeit reluctantly, seek legal redress if the EC boss Charlotte Osei fails to give him audience, rectify the anomaly and put him back onto the list of aspirants to contest the 2016 elections.

At a press conference, Tuesday, the embattled flagbearer said when put back on the ballot, he will, without fail, become Ghana's next president.

The PPP flagbearer was part of 13 others disqualified from contesting the upcoming elections for various acts of fraud, negligence, voter irregularities.

By law each flagbearer was to be endorsed by two people from all the districts across the country.

However, in the PPP case, one Richard Aseda with the voter’s ID number 7812003957 endorsed Dr Nduom’s nomination form as a voter of both the Central and Volta Region, an act that contradicts the laws governing elections in Ghana.

The Commission said: “the same subscriber (Richard Aseda endorsed the form with different signatures in both portions of the nomination form. This raises questions as to the legitimacy of one or both signatures.”

These, the EC boss maintained are infractions against this directive as contained in the Constitutional Instrument (C.I.94)

Nduom was thus disqualified from contesting an election he has invested so much money in funding, not only his campaign, but those of his parliamentary aspirants.

Wearing a black attire, a serious face and picking his words cautiously but with intent, Nduom said having reviewed of copy of the documents they sent to the EC, he admits there were administrative errors in just a page or two, errors that should not be the basis for his disqualification.

All he wants from the EC chair is  five minute discussion with the EC boss Charlotte Osei and everything will be resolved.

"I understand she is not in Accra; through this medium i ask that by Thursday we can meet and deal with this matter positively, just as was done for other candidates," he said.

According to Nduom he has information that one of the aspirants has been given until tomorrow to resolve a similar challenge with the nomination form.

The PPP flagbearer said failure by the EC to resolve the matter amicably will give him little choice but to proceed to court.
