The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Nana Ohene Ntow says Tuesday's victory in the Nkoranza North by-election is a foretaste of the NPP's fortunes in the 2008 general elections.
The party’s candidate, retired Major Derrick Oduro retained the seat for the NPP on Tuesday winning over 10,179 votes.
His closest rival Dr. Kofi Amoako Gyambah who represented the opposition NDC polled 5,694 votes.
The third candidate, Osei Bonsu polled a paltry 122 votes.
Nana Ntow says the NDC must watch out for 2008
The NDC's Director of Communications, John Mahama believes the party lost because even though it had a more credible candidate, it didn't have the resources to spread its message.
