The National Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Peter Mac Manu and some party delegates undertook a visit to some of the constituencies in the Upper East region to interact with party executives, District Chief Executives (DCEs) and the Regional Minister.
Speaking to the media after the tour, the National Chairman said the purpose of the visit was to strategise and adopt means for the party to recapture power in the 2008 election.
He called on party executives and DCEs to do away with party squabbles and unite to enable the party to return to power.
Mr Manu said the party was ready and would involve a lot of women and the youth when it wins the 2008 election to enable them also to contribute their quota to national development.
He expressed optimism that the NPP Government, through the implementation of its good policies such as the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the capitation grant, school feeding programme and the Mass Metro Transportation system among others would surely be brought back to power.
"Ghanaians have benefited a lot from the good policies introduced by the NPP Government," the National Chairman stressed.
He appealed to the party executives and polling agents to welcome all defectors from other parties for the total victory of the party.
Mr Manu also urged all political party leaders to eschew acts of insults and violence during their campaigns for the sake of peace and development.
