The New Patriotic Party has resolved to go to court to contest the election results declared by the Electoral Commission.
The party is challenging the figures announced by the Electoral Commission which declared President John Mahama as winner of the 2012 elections.
This decision to go to court was taken after a marathon meeting by the elders of the party.
The NPP feels cheated after it was declared losers in an election which saw President John Mahama win by some 300,000 votes.
It claims it has evidence the votes were rigged and it will petition the Supreme Court with its evidence.
Joy News’ Elton John Brobbey who was present at the party head quarters where the meeting was held, reported that the party leaders are headed for the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, where thousands of supporters have converged in violent demonstrations against the results.
A man said to be wearing NDC paraphernalia was allegedly stabbed by the disgruntled NPP supporters Joy News has learnt.
Police however came to the rescue of the man. It is not clear however if the victim died in the process of the stabbing.
