The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the party is putting in place strategic plans to support the youth in the area to acquire skills that will enable them start their own businesses.
Mr Gabriel Asaana-Abugiri said since the youth are the future leaders of the nation, there was the need for stakeholders to be concerned about them.
He noted that exposure to various vocational skills and training would unlock the future potentials of the youth and allow them to actively participate in decision making that would help government to achieve its aims.
Mr Asaana-Abugiri was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Bawku to affirm the NPP’s commitment to developing the youth.
He urged young Ghanaians to desist from the politics of insults, and concentrate on serving their country because such political games could jeopardize the interest of the state.
He added that politics was to unite people and bring about development unlike the trend it has taken which he said could jeopardize the nation’s peace.
Mr Asaana-Abugiri called on the youth in the Bawku area to see themselves as one people and give peace a chance since it was the surest way of bringing development to the area.
