A former diplomat, James Victor Gbeho has dismissed assertions that there were lapses in protocol arrangements in honour of US President Barack Obama.
Critics have questioned why Obama was made to inspect the Guard of Honour alone on Saturday, without the guidance of host President John Evans Mills.
Others, including Malik Kweku Baako described as a disaster the protocol arrangements during the arrival ceremony of the US President.
But Mr. Gbeho, a onetime Foreign Minister in the Rawlings led administration disagreed.
He told Citi News "protocol went very well, extremely well, from beginning to the end."
He explained it is normally the guest president or visiting diplomat who inspects the Guard of Honour, adding, "it is uncommon for two heads of state to inspect the guard of honour at the same time."
