Delegates from Obuasi branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been disqualified from taking part in voting of new party leaders, Joy News has learnt.
Luv FM’s Elton John Brobbey reporting from the NPP conference ground said the decision was taken in respect of a court ruling.
The delegates were said to have been illegally constituted after a flawed constituency elections, the court ruled.
Party officials say the disqualification of the delegates is to prevent a clear breach and contempt of the court.
Meanwhile, the Obuasi delegates who have thronged the Kumasi Sports Stadium to cast their votes say they have not been officially informed by the court’s decision.
