The Osagyefo Ampem Foundation has signed a 5-year partnership agreement with Trans Sahara Industries to provide 500 bicycles to the Wenchi Traditional Council in the Bono region.
Under its “Wheels of Change” project, the Osagyefo Ampem Foundation will distribute the bicycles to school children in hard-to-reach areas who walk long distances to access quality education in the traditional area.
The Paramount chief of the Wenchi Traditional Area, Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III, announced the partnership agreement with Trans Sahara Industries during the celebration of this year's annual yam festival of the area.

"While we celebrate our yam festival, Trans Sahara Industries presented the first batch of bicycles to Osagyefo Ampem Foundation to support our Wheels of Change programme,” Osagyefo Tabrako stated.
He noted that "Under the 5-year partnership agreement, Trans Sahara Industries will provide 100 electric bicycles to support Osagyefo Ampem Foundation every year within the period".
The Overlord of Wenchi Traditional Area further explained that the Wheels of Change programme is to support children in the remotest parts of the traditional area who trek long distances to access education.

“Our target is also to help improve the health sector, agriculture and youth employment in our traditional area since government alone cannot do it,” he emphasised.
He further announced that Trans Sahara Industries has expressed interest in setting up a bicycle assembling and repairing factory in Wenchi.
He described the move as a major boost to job creation and a supplement to the Wenchi Municipal Assembly’s efforts to reduce the area's unemployment deficit.

Osagyefo Tabrako III congratulated the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Wenchi constituency, Alhaji Seidu Haruna, for retaining the seat with a resounding victory in the just-ended December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
He pledged his full support to the MP-elect to help bring development and promote the well-being of the people.
Osagyefo Tabrako III, therefore, urged the people of Wenchi Traditional Area to bury their political differences and rally behind Alhaji Seidu Haruna to help accelerate development in the area.
The Osagyefo Ampem Foundation is an organisation set up by the Paramount Chief of the Wenchi Traditional Area.
The foundation's main objective is to promote the total well-being of the people of Wenchi within the Traditional Area and Ghana at large.
