One of the petitioners whose red flags have led to the suspension of the Commissioner of Human Rights and Administrative Justice is turning his attention to other conspirators he suspects contributed to the rot at the Commission.

While welcoming the decision by the president to suspend the CHRAJ boss, Lauretta Lamptey, the Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri Annor Dompreh said every other official who contributed to the misappropriation of funds and flagrant abuse of the law must be held to account.

Lamptey stands accused of grave misconduct following her decision to expend some $148,500 in 33 months of rent from November 2011 to April 2014 at the plush AU village in Accra.

She was also accused of spending another GHS180,000 to renovate her official bungalow.

All these expenses were made at a time when the Commission was crying over a lack of funds to investigate and prosecute cases of human rights abuses as well as reported cases of corruption.

President of the Progressive Nationalist Forum Richard Nyamah, as well as the MP Annor Dompreh led a charge of misconduct against the CHRAJ boss and sent separate petitions to the Chief Justice.

The Chief Justice conducted a preliminary investigation into the allegations and established a prima facie case against the Commissioner and subsequently formed a five-man committee to thoroughly investigate the matter.

Lauretta Lamptey was asked to step aside at least for the period when the investigation would continue in order to protect the sanctity of the investigation.

Annor Dompreh told Myjoyonline.com in an interview that the suspension of the CHRAJ boss would begin the process of repairing the battered image of CHRAJ.

He was quick to add that there are other officials at the Commission and the Controller and Accountants General Department who must equally be investigated.

"We should not single out Lauretta Lamptey," he said. "There was the award of contracts which did not go through tender.

"The officials at the Controller and Accountant General cannot be absolved of blame," he insisted.

He said everybody who played a role in the rot at CHRAJ must be thoroughly investigated and brought to book.
