Vice Presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has joined thousands of demonstrators who have hit the roads in Kumasi to protest the crippling power crisis in the country.

The former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana is among a host of leading members of the party including Alan Kyeremanten, Sammy AWUKU who are taking part in the demonstration.

The "Yabr3" [we are tired] demonstration as it is christened being organised by the Ashanti Region branch of the New Patriotic Party is a continuation of the "won gbo" demonstration embarked on by National executives of the same party last week.

Luv FM's Erastus Asare Donkor reports the demonstration has started in earnest with the demonstrators chanting across the streets of Kumasi.

Shops have been closed at the Suame Magazine, Bantama, Adum with traders joining the demonstration.

The numbers have created a heavy vehicular traffic leaving commuters with no choice but to continue their journeys on foot.

Drivers have been left stranded as they are unable to move their vehicles through the heavy traffic.

One of the demonstrators Kofi Kari Kari from Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region chose to demonstrate with a fresh salmon fish.

He told Nhyira FM's Ohemeng Tawiah all his fish has gone bad as a result of the ongoing power crisis and has charged government to solve the problem.

The demonstrators converged at the State Boys School, Suame Roundabout as early at 7:00 am, in readiness for what is likely to be a long day of demonstration.

The demonstrators are in their traditional red outfits and are brandishing placards some of which read: "Mahama is a dumsor"; "We need power now!" "Where is our money?"

The police in their riot control gears are also supervising the demonstration.
