President John Dramani Mahama and his family have donated an amount of GH¢300,000 to the National Cardiothoracic Centre in Accra.
The amount is proceeds from donations received by the family during the funeral of the late mother of the President, Abiba Nnaba.
Hajia Nnaba died on Tuesday, June 14 at the SSNIT Hospital in Accra.

She was buried after final funeral rights were performed at Busunu in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region in July.
Hundreds of people joined the first family to bid the late Hajia Nnaba farewell.

The President's family decided to donate all proceeds from the funeral the National Cardiothoracic Centre.
The promised was fulfilled early Monday, October, 24 as the President shared photographs from the donation on Facebook.


He captioned the photos: "Earlier today, I presented on behalf of my siblings, an amount of GH¢300,000 to the National Cardiothoracic Centre, being proceeds of donations received during the funeral of my late mother. Thank you to UT Bank for the additional amount of GH¢20,000 to the GH¢280,000 realized from the donations."
