The Council of Elders of the People’s National Convention (PNC) is urging members to exercise restraint over recent misunderstandings within the party.
The council took over the affairs of the party following internal an wrangling involving current executives and the interim management committee.
The two factions are battling each other’s legitimacy in court. The elders have issued a statement calling on the national executives to immediately withdraw the suit for an out-of-court settlement.
The elders say they have taken a very serious view of the disturbances and are committed to a solution.
They want members and sympathizers to continue to exercise the greatest restraint in what they describe as trying times. They, however, condemn the IMC describing its actions as unconstitutional.
