Police at Winneba in the central region have exhumed the body of a taxi driver killed by a-21-year-old fetish priest at a beach in Wenneba.
This, followed the identification of a human neck at the crime scene, when police led the fetish priest to the place.
The Winneba district police crime officer, ASP Kofi Sarkodie Addo, who is leading the investigations said the body of the deceased has been deposited at the municipal hospital for preservation.
According to him, the police is awaiting arrival of pathologists from the Police Hospital in Accra to examine the body to confirm the confession of the fetish priest.
According to the police, the fetish priest has confirmed he led the deceased to the beach at midnight for rituals and managed to conjure one billion Ghana cedis from the mythical sea mermaid.
But his client, according to police account, failed to follow the mermaid’s instructions and ordered his killing.
ASP Kofi Sarkodie Addo further stated that the suspect has indicated he needs to perform another ritual to enable him get the money back.
