The Accra Regional Police Command has mounted search for five suspected armed robbers who killed a police man in the early hours of Thursday at Tesano in Accra.
Lance Corporal George Korankye of the Tesano Divisional Police was shot in a fire exchange between the suspected armed robbers and the police when his patrol team spotted them attempting to break into a house at Tesano.
Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, DSP Cephas Arthur told Joy News investigations have commenced into the incident.
He said it is likely some of the robbers may have been hit in the shoot out and were seeking medical attention at a medical facility.
The Police is therefore appealing to health workers in both public and private hospitals to be on the look out for people who come for treatment for gunshot wounds, and report any suspicious case.
