At least ten people have been reportedly killed in a gory accident at Dikpa near Tinga in the Bole Bamboi district of the Northern Region, Sunday.
Eight others in critical condition, were rushed to the Bole Government Hospital for treatment, Bole District Police Commander ASP David Azumah confirmed the accident to Myjoyonline.com.
He said the tragic accident occurred at 2:30am when a Ssangyong mini bus with the registration number UW 171-15 rammed into a stationary DAF truck at Dikpa near Tinga on Bole Bamboi highway. The mini bus was heading to Wa from Kumasi.
Ten of the passengers in the mini bus including two children died instantly, with eight others sustaining various degrees of injuries, ASP Azumah said.
He also said a police officer with the Wa Regional Highway Patrol, Jakper B. Yamdauk with the personnel No.47593 G/L/Cpl also lost his life.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Bole Government Hospital morgue pending identification and autopsy.
