The police administration is warning it might be compelled to take legal action against media houses and practitioners it accuses of spreading hate against the service.
Officials are worried about recent publications they say are false and damaging to the image of the service.
They cite reports suggesting the IGP had been dismissed and the manhandling of police officer by operatives of national security at the Kotoka International Airport.
Acting Public Affairs Director, DSP Cephas Arthur, in an interview with Joy News accused sections of the press of being behind a hidden agenda to portray personnel of the service are incompetent.
He said the police may soon take legal action against such culprits.
