The Black Meteors played their third group match at the 9th All Africa Games on Monday and gained their first point in the competition with a 1-1 draw against leaders, Tunisia.
The result however was of no relevance to Ghana's continued participation in the competition as they lie at the bottom of the table and got eliminated automatically.
With nothing to gain, win or lose, the Ghanaians went behind after 20 minutes when Ben Amar Karim beat goalkeeper Eric Ni Baah from the box.
Ghana reacted swiftly and levelled up three minutes later through Emmanuel Allan.
In the second half, the Tunisians had the game under control but over elaboration failed to give them any real chance to increase the tally.
Coach Jones Cecil Attuaquayefio said he came into the competition with a depleted team as most of his players had deserted the team to respond to foreign duties.
He said in the absence of the foreign segment, he invited many home-based players who also failed to make the trip, while there was not enough time to rebuild before the Games.
